Obamacare has repealed itself. Contrary to what our fearless Democratic leaders in Washington, DC would have us believe, people weren’t dying in the streets before Obamacare and won’t be after. Well, unless they were veterans. But, that is something to discuss another time.
Considering that Obamacare has more pages than the Bible is it any wonder that Nancy Pelosi instructed Democrats to vote for it without knowing the content. Congress didn’t have the time to actually read the bill. Let that be a lesson for the Republicans and Democrats alike. Know what you are saddling the American people with before making it law.
The best solution seems to be to blame President Trump for all our healthcare issues. He does have a lot of gall so it is no wonder that I had to have my gallbladder removed. So maybe that is not fair. He didn’t make me eat onions. The debate or lack thereof in Washington makes no more sense than my theory. Or does it?
When big business has much to win or lose depending on which way the wind blows you can bet they push hard to get what they want. When those same businesses donate big bucks to the coffers of US Congress Members’ campaigns one has to ask if there is not a conflict of interest somewhere.
Of course pre-existing conditions should be covered. But, at what cost? Necessary medical care should be available to all. Again, at what cost? Maybe Congress should forget about those lining their pockets. Instead they should focus on the job at hand entrusted to them by their constituents.
The problem isn’t who should pay for the care. The United States is a wealthy country. However, we do have our limits. When non-profit hospitals pay their top administration millions while suing poor people in small claims courts there is a problem. The cost of five gallbladder surgeries result in bills of five different amounts. Prescription medications cost enough to allow pharmaceutical companies to pay millions to lobbyists to strong-arm the politicians they contribute more millions to.
It is time for Congress to stop all the nonsense and get to work. Not one Democrat had the backbone to stand up to the powers at bee and vote yes to repeal Obamacare and discuss ways to fix the mess it has created.
The best way to provide affordable healthcare to all is to make actual healthcare affordable. Lining the pockets of those in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical industries only helps them at the expense of the United States’ taxpayers.
